Simple Ways to Be a Better Entrepreneur

          0 votes

Are you an entrepreneur who is stressed out about work and getting projects done on time? Check out these three, simple tips to help you get back on track… fast!

1. Work extra hours at strange times.

If you are a morning person, try to get up one hour earlier and start working. If you are a night owl, start your day a little later and work longer into the night.

You’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish when everyone else is sleeping. Then, after you get caught up, you can go back to your regular schedule. (But you may not want to!)

2. Stop and think.

If you are rushing to meet deadlines non-stop, it’s time to hold your calls and get organized. Take a few minutes to look at your schedule.

Figure out your priorities and how much time you’ll need to finish each task. If it’s overwhelming, look at hiring a virtual assistant, temporary worker or intern.

Yes, it will take some time to train that person, but in the long run, you’ll have more time to finish important priorities, meet deadlines and plan ahead.

3. Take a day off.

If you are working seven days a week, you’ll probably start to get tired, feel sick and lose any kind of passion you originally had for your business.

While it takes a lot of time and effort to have a successful business, there’s no reason to “kill” yourself in the process.

Try to set aside one day a week to relax. Do something that you like to do and have fun.

By taking some time off of work, you’ll be able to approach your work with a fresh perspective and have more energy to accomplish more.

Feel the Love, Again.

These are just three, simple tips, but they can help you feel a lot better about being an entrepreneur and the future of your business!

Such a great reminder. Especially number 3. One of the challenges as an entrepreneur is feeling as if you CAN take time off. You’ve got to fight that urge that if you take time off you’ll miss something. Once I realized that the world continues to rotate when I take a day all was well. It wasn’t easy.

  3. Mike Says:

I have to agree with the #3. Sometimes we forget that the work waits for us.

Very useful article, I particularly agree with #1! As a stay at home, work from home dad, it is almost imposssible to get anything done during the day- kids running around, fighting, playing, laundry… etc. I definitely find that my most productive hours are from their bedtime to midnight… sometimes until 2 AM, just get into the zone and stay focused. I think it’s really hard to take an actual day off, there is always something to do and look into and an “oh yeah.” A day off would be nice!

Attract talented & good employees. The thought of offering benefit packages scared me at first. I thought that my new, small company would never be able to afford them. After speaking with Keith at Steidle Pension Solutions, I came to realize that we could afford it. That was three years ago and now, not only do I am my employees benefit from the Plan, but I am able to use the Plan to attract new employees. I have enjoyed the personal service that Steidle provides and have enjoyed working with them.

Very well said. It’s going to be a lot difficult if we push ourselves in a time that we don’t have any more energy and focus on the work at hand. Take things one at time, so they always say to me. We can’t do everything at once and we can do more if we go through it one at a time.

I wanted to share a great funding source that I am personally using to fund my real estate deals and small business. It has 0% APR and no financials needed with fast approval. This has helped me to expand and grow my business credit lines. The site is – http://www.fundinginstantly.com . I want to share this with others to help people grow their business.
