Great post! I love the statement: "Something Good Done Today is Better than Something Perfect Done Tomorrow" and the shelf example you gave.

I see so many small business owners get caught up in the planning and the organizing; never making any real decisions and getting stuck! I'm the opposite, I'm the woman who will jump in with both feet and "fix" it later (if it needs fixing, it doesn't always!).
You hit the nail on the head - JUST DO IT! Stop worrying and calculating and planning and make a decision and move forward!

Thanks!

Great insight, and too often overlooked advice. I am involved with leading a Small Business 101-type class, and there are always attendees who have big dreams about starting businesses in fields in which they have never worked. When we discuss the possibility of them working in their chosen field for an employer FIRST to get experience, many are shocked that we, a pro-small business organization, would actually recommend working for "The Man" as opposed to going out on their own. We explain that while we're certainly supportive of small businesses, we want to see them succeed. Ultimately, the more prepared they are prior to going out on their own, the better chance their business has for success. We don't want them to give up on their dreams, but sometimes putting the dream on temporary hold makes sense. Delaying the dream for a year during which valuable make-you-or-break-you experience can be had may prove to be invaluable.

Well said...especially #2. I've seen way too many small businesses sink because they spent too much time on mundane non-issues.
