Your Site Isn’t Optimized? Why Not?
Is your site optimized for the search engines? If not,
does one of these statements sound familiar?
• I don’t need SEO.
• It’s too expensive.
• I was ripped off by SEO in the past.
Well, here’s the cold hard truth about SEO:
You need search engine optimization to compete.
What happens right now when potential customers
are looking for your services?
Go ahead. Try it.
Type in a keyword about your products and services
in Google and see what comes up.
Are you listed? If not, who is?
Well, these are the people “stealing” your sales.
It’s worth the expense.
If you hire a good, SEO copywriter to optimize your
site for the search engines, it’s well worth it.
In the long run, the sales you receive from their SEO
efforts can pay for their fee.
And really. Can you afford not to optimize your site?
Find the right SEO service.
“I was ripped off by SEO in the past.”
O.k. I’ve heard this one a lot, and my sympathies go
out to you. But this is no reason to give up on SEO.
What happened last time?
Did you have clear expectations of what the results would be?
Did you thoroughly discuss your goals with SEO service
in advance and understand the process?
Did you get referrals?
When you pursue SEO again, make sure you know
exactly what you are paying for and what you can expect.
If this is not clear up front, you run the risk of losing time
and money. Plus, you will not get good results.
SEO is an important part of today’s marketing process. And
it doesn’t need to be difficult. Hire an experienced professional
and get your business posted in the search engine listings.
And when the sales calls start coming in, you’ll wonder why
you waited to move forward with your SEO efforts!

Its really important for small businesses not to give up on SEO. There are other resources they can begin to work on improving SEO. At dydacomp we work with many small business owners and help them work on improving the SEO on their site. Businesses can also use social media to help them improve their search engine ranking.

I agree TrafficColeman and Molly. SEO is too important to ignore. While it takes time to find the right SEO person, it’s well worth it and can significantly increase site traffic and sales.

Melanie - I hear so much now about SEO, especially that traditional SEO is becoming obsolete b/c blogging creates better SEO. It is so hard to decipher what truly is the answer, and I am curious about your thoughts on this. Rachel

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for your note. While blogs are an essential part of SEO, traditional search engine optimizaton is important.
Your site needs to contain valuable content that includes your keywords (along with the appropriate title tags, descriptions and keywords).
And it doesn’t need to be difficult. I offer some free tips
on my site to do it yourself. And if you are hiring someone, make sure they know how to write good copy.
Today, good site rankings and search results depend on providing valuable information pertinent to your industry.

Remember, too, that good SEO and search acquisition takes time. Allow at least six months to start seeing good results. Also, you can’t just “set it and forget it.” You need to be adding new content and tweaking things to keep your site fresh, as well as making sure SEO efforts are keeping up with industry changes. But it really can be worth it in the long run.

Hi Christina,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, good SEO takes time and regular monitoring and adjusting. But with some good SEO content and PR, you can see results faster.

Great post and so true! Even better, find a practitioner who knows SEO and also understands web marketing and content, too!

Hi Susan,
Thanks. Yes. It is worth it to find someone who knows SEO copywriting well. And the great part about SEO is that you can track results and change what isn’t working for the best results!
