I have seen some amazing open rates and conversion rates because of people's proximity to their mobile phones. Mix social and mobile marketing elements and you can crush your competition.

I'm developing an API which is sort of along these lines (but completely the other way!). It allows restaurants (and other businesses) a way to offer their product online (for pickup or delivery for example). But most small restaurants don't have the technology or the systems in place to accept orders like that (and so they can't compete against places like Pizza Pizza). Their solution is to check their email box every 5 minutes --- which is a huge drag! And sometimes orders get missed. The idea is that when an order comes in, the server phones the restaurant and places the order!
It's coming soon... not quite there yet... soon... (if you want to be kept in the know then email me: jeff at red fish blue fish design.com) <-- no spaces

Sometimes I think that I could never live without my smart phone. A day without it would be a chaos, imagine all my contacts are saved in my Smart Phone. Even my schedules and appointments.

I recently learned about a merchant processing solution for smartphones, called Square. I think in many cases it might be limited to $100/transaction, etc., but what an awesome tool. A line from their description is "Quickly and securely accept card and cash payments for your business, service, charity – even to sell your couch". Thought this might help someone (I don't have any financial interest in Square).
