Brian, it’s going to be subjective as to what is over the line. Personally, my advice to you would be to assess a headline from your own standards. If your gut tells you that something is inappropriate (or may be inappropriate), then don’t do it. There are many, many ways to be creative without needing to offend anyone.

Where do you recommend drawing the line as far as what is appropriate for a headline and what might push readers away? An example that we have wondered about is a blog titled “Stop Digging Through Your Drawers” with the article about going paperless.

In the business community would that be considered a good example of a headline, or too inappropriate?
