Publicity for StartupNation Users - We’re Going to Bat for You!
As yet another way for StartupNation to look out for your best interests in improving the performance of your business, we’ve decided to leverage our awesome PR firm for your benefit. We’ve teamed up with them to provide you a free service whereby we find great publicity opportunities for you.
StartupNation’s PR team is currently looking for great startup stories that they’ll provide as “recommendations” and “opportunities” to the many journalists who contact us on a daily basis looking for stories and fodder to include in them.
To get your business highlighted, we need to hear from you. The opportunities are in national and local TV, radio, newspapers, magazines and on websites.
In particular, currently, we are looking for Recession-busting businesses that fit the following:
- Businesses that were started after one of the business owners was laid off
- Businesses that are thriving despite the downturn
- Businesses that got inspiration from StartupNation
If you are interested in participating, please send an email to
with a brief overview of your business, how you might fit one of these story angles, and your contact information. We are looking forward to hearing from you and hope that this presents an easy way for you to crank up the awareness and interest in your business.
Let’s START UP THE PUBLICITY!

Rich (and the StartUpNation team),
You all are absolutely the best! I was going to say “you rock” but someone already stole my catch-phrase. So I will simply say, you are awesome! If you’re not doing one thing, like the Top 200 Mom’s in Business Competition that I just finished campaigning for, now you are offering this.
Absolutely unbelievable. Is there a deadline to get our submission in? One wasn’t mentioned, but I definitely don’t want to miss out on this great opportunity.
Thanks, once again, for another great opportunity,
Susan

This is an excellent example of collaboration and serving the needs of your market. Thanks for making this gesture. Though I have a relatively small blog, I will use it to give your effort as much visibility as I can.

I’m one who was laid off one year ago and decided to focus on alligning my values with an attempt to create a living. Soulprint Journeys is the result as well as a few other sites. This offer sounds promising.

Rich, this idea was born out of necessity in an effort to help investors get back in the game, the response has been overwhelming to say the least. It is a mission and this will make the news before launch day on May 15th, it’s something that needs to be done:

Offer people solutions, options and opportunity and work hard to deliver.
Rich, you’re an innovator buddy, keep up the great work. You’re making a difference!

Will definitely be submitting my company’s story…I owe almost all of it to SuN! Rich, is there a deadline for this?
I’m swamped trying to save the life of 6 year old Jasmina right now, http://www.OneforJasmina.com, who has only 6 weeks to live unless we find a blood marrow donor for her. Folks, won’t you please spread the word? There are bone marrow drives in Oakland, California / Boston/ & NYC in the next 3 days (see website for details).
Need to write up my story, but right now, Jasmina must come first. Hope the deadline will extend until at least next week.
Thanks for this wonderful opportunity!!

I have been a reader and user for the last 8 months as I have been developing my new company. So to have something like this come along– I am now ready to step up and say “I’m here!” I’m ready to go from a user to a contributor. Thanks for the mentoring and being there for us through the whole process.

Greetings Rich and the Startup Nation Team,
Words cannot express my thanks for all of the generous help that you’ll have provided to the Home Based Small Business Community. The resources that have been made available to me are priceless. Speaking for myself, getting started in a business has had its highlights which are very much welcomed, as well as obstacles and hurdles. As for my business, with limited to non-existant funds for advertising, I am beyond excited about the PR Project that you’ll are giving to us here at Startup Nation. Thanks again for bringing us along on your journey to success!
Hooray for Rich! Thanks Again, Startup Nation!
Sandy

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. I agree with Sandy above-my resources for marketing my business is shrinking. Your efforts are appreciated.
May 3rd, 2009 at 1:41 pm
Rich,
Is this still going on, or has someone(s) already been chosen to receive the free PR package?
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:23 am
What a great idea. We simply cannot express our appreciation for all the help that you’ve provided to the WAHM Community. Many of us simply could not pay for the knowledge and resources you provide. Ours is a small business that serves the disabled community. My wife is a disabled veteran with many disabilities. The money we make from our business pays for things work comp and the VA don’t. We simply don’t have a lot of funds for advertisingso this PR Project Is a Godsend. Thank you Rich and Startup Nation!
Just a little note, I’m not the worlds best typest and it would be nice if I could have copied nad pasted the email address but your page doesn’t allow that.
