Rich,

Thank you very much for posting this...

I just listened to the Podcast with John McIntyre, and I must say that he hit the target on each of the questions you asked of him. I have been in the Video Commercial Business for the last couple of years and everyone of my clients whom we have created, edited, uploaded, distriubted, etc, a Video for has reported an increase in business..Everyone one of them! Dollar for Dollar Video or Vmercials as we call them is the ultimate promotional tool for small Business.

I have used a 4 minute video clip to introduce myself to potential clients for almost two years. Given the nature of the work I do - Human Agriculturalist - it is important to have a strong relationship so people are willing to grow personally and professionally. They have to trust me and by 'meeting me' they can determine whether or not we might be a good fit. I have the clip on my website and also on YouTube.

Jeremy,

while you comment is definitely promotional in nature, i think it adds to the "value" for people interested in finding options for video.

i was very encouraged in my interview with PixelFish about video and its effectiveness. Their pricing of around $850 was particularly attractive, too.

did you get a chance to listen in to the podcast?

Full disclosure here: GeniusRocket is a client of mine.

You may want to check out GeniusRocket.com

What they offer is pretty cool...it's a crowd-sourced video production model that helps small businesses get Ad agency quality videos for a fraction of the cost. ABout $2k. So, those snazzy videos that once were only big brands can be obtained by even the smallest of companies.

It's a bit self-promotional, I realize, but I think it is relevant to your post, so hope you take it as a value-add and not comment spam.
