Hey Rich,
You can’t be more “to the Point” and focused than that. The power of taking the ” first step” is like they say ” mission half accomplished”.
Really, it all begins with determining what one wants out of life and then taking that first step. Once taken, the momentum would take over. Depending on the fire in one’s belly, the momentum sustains and there you go — success firing on all cylinders.
bring it on.

I love this! Sometimes you have to make it fun in order to open the hearts and minds of others. Support systems really do help along the way. Above all, trust yourself! Try and fail….everyone fails…everyone. You may surface being a very successful company and then the competition comes in and you find yourself at the lower step on the ladder all of a sudden. That’s the nature of business. I have to reinvent myself about every 5 years in order to keep my business alive. I ask myself at times, is it worth it? So far it has been because it keep all my ducks lines up in a row the way I need them to be. Due to medical issues I have to keep the firewalls up at all times. The domino affect can be really frightening and it can happen to any of us. “Know thyself”.
One thing I have learned and that is if you don’t trust your inner-self you’re going to have a really hard time. By nature, people don’t rally around the underdog or those who are struggling or have not risen to the top just yet. What convinces me so much of the time is when I see someone who is trying with everything they have and more…and they’re being true to themselves and others. I can support a person or image that gives me something to believe in and offers a holistic approach. I may not be able to financially put my money into it but I can surely write that person and encourage them with whatever it is that they are attempting to do. Someone once told me, “in business if there is a need ….try to find a way to fill it”. That is really a simple theory but it takes research, careful planning, a good team of people, etc to pull it off and keep it going. “Necessity is the mother’s milk of invention”….but approach it honestly. Ever read “The Alchemist”? In our quest to challenge ourselves and to learn how to exercise Faith is the hardest part.
With people rallying around you and tools to work with really do pave the way. If you don’t have anyone rallying around you then you’ve got to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps and tell yourself you can do it. If you look at the last scene in the movie, Carousel, the small town doctor/preacher is giving the Commencement speech to a small group of high school students. He inspires them to make the first move if someone is not being friendly to you. We have to persuade others to believe in us sometimes …but you have to believe in yourself..this is paramount. Just by your excitement people will want to be around you to hear what you’re trying to do. Happy people, who are not faking it, are contagious. I actually miss the days when I was starting out..so hopeful and green. There is something magnetic about a person who is full of dreams and promise and is willing to persevere; you can’t help but want to support them. I call it “That ol’ black magic in business”.
Another good read is Banker to the Poor by Muhammad Yunnus. If this doesn’t inspire you…nothing will. You’ve got one life as we know it….go live your dream. Make your money and help others to make theirs.

Your last sentence…make your money and help others make theirs……..So insightful.
The pleasure I get from seeing others succeed is hard to describe, especially when they have taken my advice. Happened to me many times and I hope to continue to inspire others. Teach them to fish…………and they will feed themselves for a lifetime.

Hey Rich, What happens when you’ve taken as many steps as you can and now it’s time to put up the money and you have none. I have a patent on an adpter that lets you plug your three wire dryer/range cords into a four prong wall outlet. it also covers all other configurations of dryer and stoves.I,m also working on copier adapters and other 240 volt adapters. Did you ever move into a new place and have to change your dryer or stove cord? A lot of people don’t know how. And they are already asking for adapters in the storesIt’s a possible 20 to 40 million dollar a year profit potential and I’m trading 1% net profit for every 25,000 dollars invested. I would like to know your thought or any advice you may have to give me. thanks
