3 Cool Sites to Help with Your PR Efforts
If you are working on your own publicity efforts, there are a few sites that can help you build buzz while saving money. When you get a moment, check these out:
http://www.helpareporter.com/
By simply registering your name, e-mail address and company name on this site, you’ll get access to some great reporter requests.
Peter Shankman, a publicist who has a huge network of media friends, will share reporter inquiries with you three times a day at no cost! But before you respond to any of the media requests, please create a succinct pitch. If you contact the reporters in the wrong way, you’ll make a bad first impression, and Peter may even kick you off the list!
www.prweb.com
If you haven’t already visited PR Web, take a moment to check out this site. They have inexpensive, press-release distribution options starting at $40.00. Plus, they provide writing and editing services.
If you are working with a tight budget and have a press release that must go out, PR Web may be just what you need.
www.prnewswire.com
Did you know that PR Newswire offers numerous services at various prices? Their press-release distribution service may be costly at first glance, but it doesn’t need to be. Give one of their representatives a call.
They offer targeted distribution for smaller regions at a lower cost than a national release. Plus, they can help you figure out which media list is best for your press release. And while you’re on the phone, ask them about their Profnet service. It’s a great way to find out what media members are looking for on a daily basis.
Obviously, there are a ton of sites out there that can help you even if you are working with a small budget. These are just my top three examples. If you have other great sites that you use to help you with your publicity efforts, please share them with the StartupNation Community below! Thanks, and I’ll be back soon with more tips,

Peter’s idea is fantastic, and I love his rationalization — good karma. Thanks for the resources, Melanie!

Thanks for the positive words about PRWeb Lisa! It’s great to know you’re having a wonderful experience. Would it be ok to speak with you about your use of PRWeb and what kind of results it has given you? Doing some research for a case study. If you can, shoot me an email: sacevero(at)vocus(dot)com.
