Clutter
Search for “clutter” on Google and you get 6,400,000 responses.
DON’T PRINT THEM ALL OUT!
Stuff accumulates, and while it can seem a constant annoyance, it’s best to deal with it before you can’t find your keyboard and your phone (I speak from experience!) Clutter clearing is part of your work like paying the bills. It may not be fun, but you still have to do it. Set aside time to get rid of the piles or you will surely lose something important.
Clutter can be an even bigger problem in the home office because inevitably things that have nothing to do with work end up on your desk. Right now, I am typing among directions for growing a beanstalk, a bug catcher, some unfinished thank you notes and crayons. They have to go, but by tomorrow there will be more to replace them. It’s easy for experts to say “separate your work space from your family space”—easier said than done.
Experts suggest putting aside time daily or weekly to sort it all out. If you really can’t do it alone, many have made careers of helping by coming to your home or office and doing it with you. Others have created systems and products to make the job easier.
I’m looking for the greatest hits of clutter clearing ideas and products. I’d also love to hear your stories about the growing clutter around you. How do you deal with it, or what clever methods do you use to avoid dealing with it!

Hello,
I heard about you on the radio today. Real nice , love all the information. Maybe you can help me. I am looking for a special neck rest for the shampoo bowl. I saw it at a shop in Oklahoma. The Lady that was using it, also owned it. She got it here in Texas. But i can not seem to find a supply company that handels it. The lady said she thought the company was Salon Comfort. But I have not seen that in the phone book under beauty supply. How can I find the article?
It looked something like a saddle, to help you stay up right. No bending the neck.
I would appreciate any help, thnak you

I’m not a beauty supply expert, but I found several things online called "shampoo trays." If you do a Google search for "shampoo trays" you will find many options. It appears you may need to call medical supply stores as well as beauty supply shops if you are not comfortable shopping online.

I am a ghostwriter, proofreader and copywriter. So far, I have seen some success with a couple projects that paid me pretty well. This whetted my appetite for more. In the outdoor lifestyle (hunting and shooting for women), I have collected brochures read them for errors then emailed the business owner offering my services. The process is slow and I receive limited replies. I believe my next step should be a website but aren’t certain what needs to go on it, but have several ideas. Should my next step be a website?

A website is a great idea. Check out these articles and interview on the StartupNation website:

You should also join your local chamber of commerce and meet as many people as possible in your area who might need your services, or any organizations pertaining to your chosen field.
Local public relations companies my have writing and editing business they want to outsource to someone like you if you are interested in areas other than hunting.
Read all the magazines and newsletters you can find and keep up what your doing–but I would suggest you avoid being too strident in your approach. Nobody likes to be told they don’t do a good job, but they may like to know how they can do a better job.
Good Luck. Keep us posted on your progress!

Hello,
I know your post is almost a month old now, but I wanted to share with you some information on professional organizers. The National Association of Professional Organizers can be found at http://www.napo.net and the site has a referral system through which you can find an organizer near you. There are organizers in all 50 states in the system, and they are also arranged by specialties so that if you need someone for your home office vs. your kitchen vs. time management vs. electronic information management you can find who you need.
If you want some help in your search for products, systems or websites that are truly helpful (not the slew of gimmicky ones in those 6,400,000 responses), please send me an email and I can help you out.
Take care,
Angela
