What is one company or brand every entrepreneur should follow on Pinterest and why?
This was the question StartupNation asked of nine successful entrepreneurs. The following answers are provided by the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), an invite-only organization comprised of the world’s most promising young entrepreneurs. 1. Young House Love
Home design DIY bloggers John and Sherry Petersik are experts at injecting personality into their online presence. Their Pinterest account, Young House Love, is a natural extension of their already popular blog and book. With more than 1 million followers, you can learn a lot from their style.
3. Kauffman Foundation
The Kauffman Foundation has a great Pinterest profile with more than three dozen pin boards and 4,000 images pinned. Some of their best pin boards are devoted to infographics as well as research reports. These boards have a lot of valuable information presented in a well-designed way for entrepreneurs.
4. Perfect Palette
Perfect Palette has close to a quarter million followers and more than 100 active boards. Entrepreneurs should follow this company because it fully understands the power of Pinterest and has leveraged it to its best advantage.
5. L.L. Bean
One of the best brands on Pinterest right now is L.L. Bean. It’s done a great job using the picture-heavy format of Pinterest to showcase its products, but also understands that it’s not all about selling. It has other boards about camping, fishing and other outdoor activities that provide value to customers while reinforcing its status as a lifestyle brand.
Lowes has more than 3.5 million followers and has done a great job with its DIY projects boards that attract interest from customers and potential customers.
7. Warby Parker
Warby Parker has done a phenomenal job branding itself since its launch in 2010, and its Pinterest account is just one example of this. It tells a coherent story and is cohesive and aesthetic, just like the brand.
8. Real Simple
Real Simple is doing a great job on Pinterest by staying true to its brand. Every board and every pin focuses on making life easier. There are so many brands with boards that aren’t consistent with their main message. Real Simple also links back to its site on nearly all pins, which can be a wonderful traffic driver for a site.
9. Brit Morin
Brit Morin does an incredible job of pinning. She has more than 300,000 followers following her nearly 12,000 pins. The company regularly pins its own stuff as well as carefully curated content from around the Web. Her pins match her Brit and Co. brand and entice visitors to check out the brand’s site.
