More than likely in the next few weeks I will be taking over the position of president for our local chamber and as one of the youngest leaders in our chamber's history I'm excited and a bit nervous. Here I will be, in a position to lead entrepreneur's with many more years of experience than myself.
Despite the pre-jitters and thrill of the position, I question what our chamber is and/or does.
Are we a fundraising community organization? Are we more about networking and building business relationships?
Now step back for a moment and realize this is for a very small chamber in a very small town. Less than 100 members and a town with a population of less than 2,000.
So how do you view your chamber? What's in it for you? What are you goals and what do you achieve as an organization that is more focused on business? Or is it more than just focusing on business?
Thanks in advance!
Chri
