I have certainly had better nights, wrecked the front end of my car and you`ll never believe what I hit! I was driving down a major thruway (Saginaw Hwy, M-43) which runs thru Lansing and I am in front of the Lansing Mall, and I need to change lanes, so I look to make sure nothing is beside me or immediately behind me to my left, put on my blinker, do a quick check again and start into the other lanes and WHAM the next thing I know I hit something and I`m pushing it down the road in front of me. Would you believe a big ole air conditioner is sitting in the middle of the road and I nailed it. UGH! It was just that time of night that the sun has almost set and shadows are dark and it is hard to see. Neither I or my sister ever saw it until it was to late, unreal!!!! So, beware, you never know where the air conditioners are lurking, just waiting to get you!
(sigh) This is the reason we need air-conditioner control laws. Time
and again, people have tried to reduce the number of air-conditioners
on the streets, and over and over again, the NACA (National Air
Conditioner Association) has lobbied Congress to successfully defeat
those laws.
Tragically, more people will have to have their cars damaged before the
public wakes up to realize the danger of air-conditioners.
In the meantime, I`d advocate that you sue the Solar System, with the
Sun as the principle defendant. This will send a message that we won`t
anymore stand idly by while the Sun arbitrarily controls the visibility
on our nation`s highways.
Thanks guys and very funny Craig! As you can imagine, I`ve taken quite a beating on this over the last few days, it`s not everyone that can say they hit an air conditioner. . .LOL
Yer `Onner....I object! My client, this poor defenseless
air-conditioner, was simply walking home that evening when it was
violently and unthinkingly struck by the vee-hickle operator!
What about the family? What about the children? My client, yer`onner, faces months of no work and rehabilitation! :-)
