The challenge of life that creates character
and determination would be lost.
I did a great interview with someone who stopped dwelling and just took action. She provides some great advice on what it takes to make the jump. You can listen to it at http://www.laresearchcouncil.com/?page_id=7. It's worth the 20 minutes. At least Oprah thought she was worthy of being on her show.
Interesting! That phrase "Just took action" sounds like the premise of Action Trumps Everything, my favorite entrepreneurship book. Basically, it talks about how (in entrepreneurship, and much of life), you just can't predict the future, regardless of how hard you analyze data.
In that sort of situation, the only reasonable thing to do is act, evaluate the effects of your action, and then act again. Once you accept that, there's a whole bunch of ways that you need to adjust your thinking away from the predictive mode. It's interesting (and not too long), and a free download from Babson (#1 entrepreneurship school) so I highly recommend it!
