Rob,
Simple. 1. Open a window to your destination link. 2. copy the URL. 3. Enter into the "edit post" area, to create or edit a post reply. 4. Highlight the word or phrase you want as your alias. 5. Click the "chain link" icon on the second row, far right of the editor toolbar. 6. Delete (backspace over) the default "http://" and paste the URL from the clipboard.

7. It appears to me that you have to hit the Okay button. If you simply hit enter, it doesn`t always work.
