Hi,

I posted this elsewhere and thought I would repost in a new topic.

Does anyone know of someone to hire to write an e-book for my web-site?

Is it important to have a web-site, logo and all contents copyrighted?  I was going to purchase someone else`s web-site and they do not want to sign over the copyright.

Any advice.

Thanks,

mt

As a writer, my first question is why should I want to write an e-book for someone else`s Web site when I can do it on my own? My next question would be, if I were looking for that sort of work, what`s the topic?

There`s an insidious marketing scheme "out there" where the source proposes that there are thousands of e-books laying around that nobody at all cares about, but if you put one on your Web site, it`ll give the appearance of offering a value. It`s a "get rich quick" scheme that rests entirely on taking someone`s creative ability and brokering a fast sale.

When you`re dealing with writers, maybe not all of them, you`re also dealing with self-employed artists. Artists may not be all that savvy when it comes to business, but they almost all have little interest in being considered laborers (or worse "resources") to spew out whatever words they`re told to produce. In a corporate world with writing departments, hiring someone to write some articles is normal. But when it comes to writing an entire book, you`ll likely have to go into some sort of partnership.

What`s the Web site about? What`s the product, and why does it need an entire book to go along with the site?

Hold on there!!

I am an honest person trying to start my own internet business.  I would assume there are many writers who would like to earn some money writing an information short book to complement my web-site and not interested in running an internet business.  I am assuming artists like to eat?

I would consider a web designer an artist in what they design but are they complaining when the get paid good money for their work?  A thought to ponder:)

Thanks for the feedback.

P.S.  Ease up there..not everyone is out to scam people.

Sorry, my intent wasn`t to defame, only to say that with a sort of unspecified posting, that there are those scam artists out there and writers are a bit wary. No disrespect, only a point of reference.

Again from my own experience, first as a musician for many years, then later as a writer, things are changing. The "sense" of things is that if you want to eat, get a regular time-clock job, and write on the side. Otherwise, get some contract work for a larger employer. But let`s stay focused on the main point here:

Why do you need an informational book for a Web site? Are you a publishing agent looking for new clients? Why does this information require an entire book, as opposed to say, a 1500 word article? Why is it in e-book form (presumably for download) and what percentage would the writer obtain of those profits?
