Oddpodz.com is place for buyers and sellers of creative services. We are an active work in progress. We are getting ready to make some changes to the front page, and add something of value to our members, before we do would like your thoughts.

We know the blog list needs to be wider, you can read much fast
We know the popular members is a waste of space, it`s going too
We know we need to have items on the front that change often
We know we need to tighten our target, still too general
We know our forum posts or topics need to be on the front page

Some items on front page are content managed and some will require programming.

thanks

Karen

Hi Karen :-)
First thing I noticed when I went to the site, was that I didn`t know what it was about. So BOOM!...there was a blurb, "What is Oddpodz?" Perfect, I thought, and read the sentence. I clicked "Read more..."

Yikes! I run into an About Us page that has no more than what I already knew, then goes off into legal disclaimers and something. Reading a bit more, I ran into a bunch of confused jargon. Hey....all I wanted to do was know a little bit more about what the heck is Oddpodz, y`know?

I got a "sense" that Oddpods somehow involved creative something, and somehow involves blogs.

The big questions are, "So what?" and "How does this matter to me?"

I saw the test to determine if I`m creative. I really don`t care all that much. I`ll assume I`m creative "enough," and here`s a site that`s supposedly going to be useful to me, offer me something, and get me involved in a creative way.

But what is it?

I think that`s your main issue of the moment. I discounted your above list of things you`ll remove, and I agree with the list. But to replace it, I`d suggest having a much more direct approach, talking to your visitors.

At the moment, you have no "voice."

One of your problems (above) is narrowing down your target market. That could be anyone creative. Will you focus on inventors, musicians, painters, crafting people, magicians, alchemists, nuclear physicists, theoretical mathematicians? :-)

You must have at one point had a "Eureka!" moment. That`s the big bang that started the entire idea of having a Web site. Remembering back to that moment, what did you envision? What flashed through your mind in that instant that spawned the initial overview of The Idea?

Craig,
Appreciate all the feedback. Will take all into the next thinking room of change.

We get so close to a project like this, especially when it`s yours and get so blinded by the over trying light.

thank you!

Karen
