I am semi-retired and looking for a genuine idea, product or service that I can set up, market and sell from home. I have had no success by searching the Internet. Has anyone any suggestions or ideas for such a product or service?

What works for me might not interest you at all. But, be very careful as you search for opportunities online. I'm a moderator on an anti-scam site, and we get a lot of post with people inquiring about this guru or that company/opportunity.
By my count, I'd say searching for a legitimate and profitable opportunity online is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. So many people promoting scams, schemes and out-right rip-offs.
I sell promotional advertising (Ink pens, coffee mugs, calendars, caps, t-shirts, and 800K other products) to business, industry, and non-profit organizations both to online and face-to-face customers. This is a 120+ year old industry, with room for more entrepreneurs. Selling, particularly business-to-business selling definitely isn't for everyone, but if someone willing to learn the business, this opportunity has great potential.
I started from scratch nearly 29 years old, in a market far from where I grew up - No family, friends, classmates, and few contacts to start a business from scratch.
