nhgnikole and CraigL ok now it sounds like we are getting somewhere. nhgnikole, I am VERY interested in any leads you might have and would greatly appreciate them! CraigL, you have hit the nail on the head! That is exactly my story with one small twist. I know what needs to done but I cant do it until I have plan B in place. I am not looking to sale, I just got started., I  could fire everyone but where would I be then. I have a great programmer he is just overwhelmed. I think I have a pretty good handle on what needs to happen. It is the implementation that is killing me. But any ideas/management consultant would be welcome!

The point is that having a Plan B is a management issue, not an employee issue. I know you`re not suggesting that it`s an emloyee issue! What I`m saying is that it sounds as though you`re entering into the world of management, whereas in the past you`ve been more focused on the world of production.

The two concepts are fundamentally different, yet they both are required in any project or business. :-) There`s the chief, then there`s the injuns. Hence the old saw about "Too many chiefs."

It`s a learning structure. To be a well-rounded person you should have a handle on both the strategic vision thing (management) and the tactical implementation thing (production). While you say your programmer seems to be overwhelmed, I`d propose that you, too, are overwhelmed as you begin to learn a whole different approach to business.

So it comes down to how much do you really want to be a manager/owner---an executive?

And nah, the "good ones" program in PHP. Hahahahahahahhah.

Funny enough but that was one of my first questions as well.... why asp.net? Is that the right language for what you`re trying to accomplish? Maybe things are taking so long because asp.net is the wrong tool for the job.

There are 3 types of work a one person can do....

Fast,
Good, or
Cheap

If its Fast, it is NOT good or cheap.
If is Good, it is NOT fast or cheap
if it is cheap, it is NOT Fast or Good.
