There are going to be instances where your backlinks are NoFollow links, meaning even though they appear on the pages and have been cached Google isn't going to follow the link over to your page.

It can be quite frustrating to see this happen, but there are going to be instances where you may or may not get picked up even with the NoFollow there.

google only shows dofollow links so it does not show all back links but yahoo also consider nofollow so it shows more back links than google.

Actually google link command does not show most of dofollow backlinks as well....i have seen a company who has 5 millions backlinks out there but google shows only 500+ this ratio is somewhat common in other websites and niches also.

Google will show only those links which they are not counting for PR calculation be it dofollow..this might be to confuse webmasters...

Google has never shown all backlinks. That does not mean they are not aware of them. If you are link building you notice your site rising in the rankings before the links show up as links at Google. If you build links from original content sites that have PR and incoming links, you can rest assured Google is aware of them.

And, for good reason.  Early in the internet history, Google *did* publish tips on search optimization, and overnight, the spammers took unfair advantage of it.  If the Google algorithm were not secret, the search engine would be useless.  I, for one, am happy that the Google algorithm is constantly changing to make sure that user gets real search results and not steerage by the spammers.

Put your website name into Google and see how many links there are...

My Google Webmaster says 127 links... A Google search of my site gives 642 unique links...
