Dear Entrepreneurs,

Someone asked me recently what the benefits are to starting your own business. I though of some compelling reasons then the idea came to me.

Why not ask the people who are doing it why they started their businesses? What do they see as benefits?

So all of you business owners. What are the benefits of starting your own businesses?

Or to ask it another way, why did you decide to start your business?

Looking forward to hearing all the great reasons.

I spent 20 years in the hotel business and my father almost 40.
All he has to show is a pension and social security.

The people in the business now (me) wont even have a pension anymore. I started my business while working at my job. Finally, I had to quit (the job) because I could no longer do both. It`s very very scary. Money is tight right now but were are holding strong.

Aside from the fact our business is growing, we have a concept in which we believe in. If we didn`t have that-I wouldn`t stay in the business and I would go back to the hotel business. There has to be light at the end of the tunnel. With being self employed-the risks are great but the payoff can be greater. How`s that?

Also, if anyone is interested in starting a small laundry business from home or any other place-I have a great solution for you.

My passion for new ideas and sharing them is so strong that I don`t think I can not start a business. Being an entrepreneur is a big part of who I am. I think my personality made this career choice for me more than anything else.
