I am sure you have often been asked the question, which three individuals would you invite to dinner (dead or alive)?

This was asked of me during dinner with friends at the weekend. It’s a very easy question but a difficult one to answer. The question caused a lot of debate!

However, here is my final three invites:

Nelson Mandela; 28 years in captivity; I’d love to know how he survived all those years being mistreated and misjudged.

Muhammad Ali – World Heavyweight Boxer: a schoolboy hero of mine. A brilliant sportsman and so dedicated to his sport.

Ken Blanchard: A superior leader who I have had the pleasure of meeting. A terrific storyteller. I know I could discover a lot from Ken.

That would be my three – who would you invite?

I took a class with Ken Blanchard in college, in which they handed out this great little book:

Heart of a Leader: Insights on the Art of Influence

I had to think about this pretty hard ... I came up with some pretty odd ideas.

Pamela Slim
is one of them, I think. Maybe Guy Kawasaki. (I`d say Steve Jobs but I`d be too tempted to give him a piece of my mind!) Dr. Alan Bell, one of my favorite professors from college - he was a really nice guy. I don`t know, I guess the list could get pretty darn long.

But most of all, my grandma ... who passed away last fall.

NHG have you played "rat race" the game developed by Guy? If not its well worth the money. We play it about every 1/4. They also have an advanced version but you really need to know whats going on to play that.

Sorry for the thread jack.

Tony Robbins : I would love to figure out  how he managed to be  always be full of energy and get some motivational tips & advises.

Guy Kawasaki : for his "Cut the crap and tell me what I need to to" ways of writting & speaking, he could give me rock solid advise for my software venture.

Seth Godin : For being a marketing guru, since marketing is currently not my cup of tea his insight would be interesting to hear

Todd : what`s this rat race game all about ? have you got a web link for that?

Donald Trump : Because he is strong and powerful.

Pablo Escabar: Because he was a good business man in his own way.

Bill Gates:  You have to admit he is a one smart business person.

Steve Jobs: Because he is so now!

My list would be...

1. My paternal Grandfather - he started with nothing and end up owning his own lumber business. I think I got the entrepreneur genes from him.

2. Dana White - I've always been a fan of the sport and fascinated how they build their brand from an almost underground sports entertainment into mainstream media.

3. Takeda (Forgot his complete name) - How he manage his army during feudal age Japan. I think he can help me managing people.

One of the qualities that I truly value is passion. Specially the kind that is bundled with a true desire to help people. Inspired individuals with the ability to communicate effectively and motivate are rare.

Off the top of my head, I see 2 that would make an interesting evening.
