I just read that the Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index survey shows that small-business owners are feeling really optimimistic this year and I`m wondering if that`s true for the folks here.  Do you think 2007 is going to be good for your revenues (63% on the survey said yes)?

I am leary myself. With some of the political posturing going on, there might be a few things inacted that will slow small business growth this year.

Raising the minimum wage looks good on paper, but to pay that added wage increase, the money has to come from somewhere which means prices are going to rise and in some cases, small business owners won`t be able to aford their employees and that means more unemployment.

If a "guest worker program" is agreed upon this will cause an influx of cheaper labor that will place more experienced Americans out of work.

The Democratic congress is looking to reverse the tax breaks that Bush started, which means taxes are going to rise.

All in all, more money going out, less money coming in, is going to make it hard for newbies to get a good start.

Sorry to sound so negative and I hope that the above doesn`t take place. If the above doesn`t happen then it should be a good year.
