I am getting ready to hand deliver a slick postcard to homeowners introducing my company.  In order for the business to sucede they must visit the website to really get a feel for who we are and what we do.

What generic terms will drive them to the site?

A reward always does the trick.  It doesn't have to be big.  But could be something that is related to what you do or it could be a free trial of your service.  It could be in a form of a raffle - (ex. register by this date for a chance to win) or if you are feeling generous, you can give something to the first 50 visitors, etc.

Perhaps, mention briefly how you can help the homeowner "save money," with more details on the website.

A meaningful offer or discount will usually get people to at least check out your website.  Depending upon what your product/service is you may consider giving something free away like an ebook or a white paper.  Also consider creating videos on how to use your product/service and suggest people check out your site to discover the features and benefits of your offering.

Basically, giving something away or saving people money usually does the trick!

I agree with the others. Offer them something free that is useful and interesting to them and that is laser targeted to your audience and that they can only get my going to your website.

Post some free downloads on your website. Perhaps a new, easier way to clean out drain gutters or washing windows. Or, removing oil stains. Or stacking and managing fire wood. Or ???

Invest some time in your documents. Also include hyperlinks embedded so there is a direct link back to your site.

Give them some useful information and then keep doing that over and over again.
