My all time favorite movie which won an oscar was "The English Patient".

Little Miss Sunshine if you want an off-beat, feel-good movie about a very dysfunctional but lovable family. I loved that movie.
If you like fantasy, and don`t mind sub-titles, Pan`s Labyrinth was incredible. Click on the official Web site, the music is great.
Dreamgirls if you want to see a woman who can belt out a tune and has a demanding presence, Jennifer Hudson is amazing. She makes you forget Beyonce is even there. (Sorry B.) Eddie Murphy was great too.
Personally I didn`t like Venus. I think it could have been a great movie but was poorly written.
Forest Whittaker did an excellent job playing Idi Amin.
