Hi Zeta,

This may help you get a start on brainstorming some ideas. http://www.keirsey.com/sorter/register.aspx

"The Keirsey Temperament Sorter®-II (KTS®-II) is the most widely used personality instrument in the world. It is a powerful 70 question personality instrument that helps individuals discover their personality type. The KTS-II is based on Keirsey Temperament Theory™, published in the best selling books, Please Understand Me® and Please Understand Me II, by Dr. David Keirsey."

Take the free quiz (takes about 20 minutes, I think) to get an idea of your basic personality type (Guardians, Idealists, Artisans, or Rationals).  Based on the results, you can research your `temperament` (personality type) in the personality or work zone on that site.

Another similar site is http://www.personalitypage.com/home.html

It may be that you know your interests, you`re just having a hard time imagining those as a potential business idea.

Good luck!

Hi Zeta,

We just posted a blog entry about this topic at http://launchx.info/2009/06/24/but-i-dont-have-a-good-idea/. Your situation isn`t unusual -- and as long as you have a good grasp of the fundamentals of running a business, you can be successful at any business you choose.

Best regards,

We have just released a free 18-page workbook "Selecting the Right Business for You" available by visiting http://www.LaunchX.com/SignUp.html. This workbook contains both information on generating ideas and narrowing down your list, as well as write-on workbook pages that guide you through the process.

Zeta111,

What do you do for fun? There must be something that you like doing. I think you just need to take a step back and look at your situation from a different perspective.

You have to have a DREAm or you will never ever see a dream come true.
If you really rally can`t find anything that interest you need to look at some videos that will shock you to the core. The shock could just be the thing you need to give you a passion to do something and help others.
You may then find that a business you run is specifically to raise funds and indirectly help that cause or you may even decide that you want to fight hands on ,on the front line!

Nothing will ever come your way if you havent got a BIG enough REASON!

One of the key aspects of starting a business is follow-up and follow-through. Here we have two pages of topic and suggestions, but I don`t see much follow-through from the original poster.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for

free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality

resource for free. It is the old what goes around comes around routine. Did

you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??

A good place for inspirations are local newspapers and magazines. Go to the classified ads section, and take note of the services that people are looking for and you could start from there. Take note of the services that you can provide, that are within your interest, use your imagination...and act on it.
