I`m having a hard time deciding what items to add to my site next.
Are there any particular items anyone is looking for or would be interested in seeing on the site.
I just don`t want to add things that no one is really looking for........

How about electronic toys? Like the race boats, or race cars (upper scale models)  Just a thought

Have you got a search widget?  Check your search logs to see what people are looking for.  Also make sure you keep an eye on your access logs, in particular what query strings from the search engines are getting people to your site.  That`s the best way to tell what people are looking for.

Hey Bardstuff,

My problem with that is the only traffic I am getting right now is from here and from fastads.com. That is one of those sites where you sit and watch ads for points. I have not been up long enough to be getting real traffic. So far, from what I can tell, I`m not even showing up on the search engines yet.

I`m not an expert on keyword campaigns but if you are looking for more traffic to your web site, keyword campaigns can be very helpful.

Another possibility is to find blogs and make comments in them (include a link with your web site).  I`m not suggesting you make blatant advertisements but helpful/useful comments.

If you are ambitious (and have the time), you should add a blog (web log).  I`ve found that writing a blog entry once or twice a week helps drive more traffic to my web site.  (I haven`t done as much recently so I anticipate my statistics to be down.)   Register your blog with technorati.com or feedburner.com or a similar service.

One word of advice. You must improve the look of the website. That is the key aspect right now.

Search Engine Optimization is more than a look or stocking the
right product on your site. Search engines track topics such as
how many low level search engines already list you. There`s
also the textual usage and word usage on each page. Oh,
META tags… The list goes on and on.

I think I understand what you`re trying to do. Only stock product
that people are searching for. It this is your intent, there is a flaw
you may not have recognized. Large stores (walmart or
WhatEver.com) receive a better wholesale prices and generally
that rate is passed to the consumer. It`s very tough to get a
potential customer to your site, then you have to compete with
pricing to keep them.

Back to the original question. If the goal is to be recognized
online by viewers, I would concentrate on locating a qualified
company to submit your site to all the smaller search engines.
Example addme.com. Remember, you will fail if you choose to
chase the Search Engines recognition. My advise is to provide
product YOU are excited about. Listen to the search engine
advise, it will help. But remember a well written, truthful, helpful
web page is what the search engines are searching for. Do
your best to provide product you feel you can provide in a
better way than anyone else. It could be customer service,
price, unique product, or many other factors that separate you
from your competitors.
