Hi all,

I would like to put a video on my website showing some of the `pages` of my e-book - so customers can see sections before they purchase (hopefully!!!).

Does anyone know what software I would need to do such a thing?

I would be showing certain parts of the e-book as if I was looking at it on the screen and talking at the same time. Then I would add the video in the middle of my `sales page`.

Makes sense?

Thanks.

Andrew

There are a couple of ways to accomplish that (video presentation).

A flash/swish animation may be your best solution. That can animate static images, text, and sound. So you would capture the screen shots of the ebook pages and work those into the flash/swish presentation.

Screen capture - if you have a graphic program (like Paint Shop Pro) screen capture is usually a function. Also, there are some free ones available on the web, Of course you can always use the trusty Windows "print screen" key which causes the computer to send whatever images and text are currently on the display screen to the printer.

There is a free program you can download called "ScreenHunter" which does a decent job.

I`ve heard good things about Wink - It`s a free screencast tool that does audio, video, etc. It will also save the video as flash, which (as Roland mentioned) is the best format.

I`m planning on doing a "how-to make a screencast" post on my blog sometime next week. If you think that would be helpful, I`ll post a link to it here.

You need "screencasting" software. Are you using a mac or pc?

There`s a bunch of "how to" links in this Wikipedia article.

+1 for ScreenHunter, if direct static screen capturing is what is being looked
for. Works very well.

I checked out wink and was very impressed for the price (Freeware).  Thanks for the tip!

Hi,

thanks for everyone`s advice.

I shall look at Wink.

Nikole, I am using a PC.

I am not advocating what this link is offering but it shows a video of the sort of thing I want to do.
