If you own a High PR site and consider exchanging links to site with low PR, what effect can it do to your high PR site? or it doesn't matter?

Here you may or may not see a live experience something called the PR sculpting. Usually when you get a link from high pr page to your site, the site that is giving away the link will have a dilute in their PR. Better you do not have a link to a low PR site rather have a link to high PR or a authority site.
