Hey all -

This one is just for fun. I`ve read a bunch of articles and blogs on
recommendations on what to listen for music at work, what people like to
listen to, etc.

This hits home for me because music is always on speakers or an iPod for
me, so how about a little SuN impromptu session - what are your favorite
songs/albums to listen to to "get you in the work groove" and of course -
which one is your "secret favorite" that maybe you might be a little
embarrassed about if others knew (of course, optional)?

For me (currently, and this changes from time to time):

Bob Dylans` "Modern Times" Album
Compilation album called "Maxims de Paris" (import)
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass "Rewhipped" Album
Any song or track by U2
Any song or track by John Mayer
Any song or track by The Barenaked Ladies
"Smiley Faces" by Gnarls Barkley
Hilary Hahn "Bach Violin Concertos"

Secret Favorites:
"If You Want Me To Stay" by Sly & the Family Stone
"I Got a Man" by Positive K

I happen to like jazz, as being unobtrusive, even-keeled, and complex enough that if I stop to think, it keeps my attention enough that I can come up with ideas. I used to listen to a home stereo, but often got upset that what I wanted to hear wasn`t playing at the time I was working.

I`ve found two really helpful locations for 24/7 music, free, that I can play anywhere and anytime through my computer speakers. Not super hi-fidelity, but certainly enjoyable.

The first is "Live 365" (http://www.live365.com/index.live)
The second is the growing development of HD (high definition) radio. This is a secondary "channel" radio stations can piggy-back onto their existing frequency for Internet broadcasting. Here`s a local place I start (Clear Channel station), then choose where in the country I want to go:

A buffer, a vac and an extractor.  Nothing more beautiful, cause it means I am working.  I own a auto detail shop!  lol

Thanks,

Tony

I love music and listen to it pretty constantly when I`m not working, but I work in silence because I`ve found music distracting.
