Totally by accident, I learned today that we have been mentioned in Rachel Ray`s new magazine:  Everyday With Rachel Ray.

When I shared this information with friends, most people`s response was congratulations...and boy, she`s really ambitious.

Suddenly I became focused, not on my own little success story, but on hers.  How did she become so successful...and what is ambition anyway?

Is it hard work?  Is it motivation?  Is it competitiveness?  How do you know if you are ambitious?

What do you think?

What is ambitious you ask? Ambitious is just another fancy word for entrepenuer. Perhaps business owner... Now am I ambitious? I would say yes, very...I like the adrenaline rush I get when I meet with clients, and give them a 5 to 10 minute presentation of why they should do business with me.
The smell of fresh coffe in the office, and knowing that if you take 5 minutes longer your boss won`t tell you, still here??? with a smirk...

It`s the fact that I can provide a service to a start up company and watch them as they grow. That is my ambition... To help others....

Thanks Edgar,

You could have something there.  I think ambition is something you are either born with or you are not.  It`s kind of like leadership...it isn`t something you can necessarily learn...it`s got to be in your core.

Hi Kim,

I would say ambition is to keep going . . . no matter what.

No matter what struggles you have encountered, no matter how many people are too tired to deal with you, no matter how many times you ask the same question.  No matter how amny times you hit a brick wall in the way things are done.

Marcy is having a tough time with her shipping, I have a tough time with my perfectionism/procrastination.  Ambition is to just keep at it.

When they were building the railways, they had to keep digging, thru rocks, mountains, clay, dirt and so forth to get the rails in place.  But they kept going and now eventually all train riders see the light at the end of their tunnels.

Ambition - the energizer bunny!!   LOL!!

And no matter how many times someone tells you they don`t think you`re idea makes sense, you just keep saying it does!

Ambition is hunger for something more or better. To be ambitious requires no fear and a very hard shell. Ambition is not a suit built for everybody. People that are ambitious usually are demanding and unsettling but are successful and admired. I would love to be ambitious.

ambitious means:

on a mission

tinged with fear?

unflappable

knowing what`s at stake

focused

willing to take risk

willing to fail

determined to win

always moving the bar higher

"tinged with fear"...hmmm.

Yep...got that.

I think it can often mean exploration.  If an idea doesn`t work, keep digging until you find something that will make it work.  Look at things as if from within a kaleidoscope...see one thing, but also see infinity...
