Looking through all of these I was surprised to not see:
Jay Conrad Levinson: Guerrilla Marketing
Sam Carpenter: Work the System
Other favorites of mine are:
Jeff Sloan & Rich Sloan: StartupNation – this is how I found this site ;)
Michael Gerber: The E-Myth Revisited (A must read for anyone who is starting a business based on their own talents)
Steven Gary Blank: Four Steps to the Epiphany
Purba & Delaney: High-Value IT Consulting (this is geared to IT consulting but there is an MBA’s worth of marketing, account development / management , price research, and sales channel management advice in this book)
Eric Sink: Eric Sink on the Business of Software
Each of these are written by people who have actually started and run business and are filled with good how-to, step-by-step advice, not plain motivational fluff.
