If you are interested in guaging reaction to your idea without actually revealing it, you may want to try posting clues to it at ideatagging.com then let us know back here you have done so. We can all then try to guess what it is. It is free and it might be fun, plus you might get new perspectives on your idea that you hadn`t even thought of. I should declare that the idea tagging site is mine, so I have a vested interest.

TripleL,

What is it that you would want to know about websites specifically?  There are several things..

Where to get it hosted ?
What tools to use ?
Who to get to build it ?
etc etc ..
In what areas are you looking for help ?

Wordpress and Joomla are great tools for designing the site. Both are pretty easy to use.

In terms of hosting you`ll want to think about how much traffic you expect, as some hosting services are less expensive, but won`t handle huge volumes of traffic.

Back up for a moment.  Nobody will be able to tell you "everything" you need to know.  Building a web business can be quite complex.  There are all sorts of different tools, technologies and resources that go into not just the site itself, but the business as well.

I suggest doing some research to get your mind set in a specific direction.  You sound like you have an idea but not the knowledge.  Do some reading about web businesses, business in general, marketing, strategy, etc.  You will learn a lot and be able to ask more specific questions which will get you better answers that you can use.

No one knows everything there is to know about building a website.  There is many ways to accomplish building a website with one specific function in mind, and there are thousands of options to consider.  If you are looking for someone who does know everything, your best hope is Google.

If you do want helpful info, you are going to have to get bit more specific about what you want your website to do.

TripleL--if you could be more specific about your idea, it will be easier to tell you "everything there is to know" (or at least start the learning process). There are so many different kinds of websites out there, all with different means of creation. Here`s a question that will help you be more specific: What type of business will your website be? E-Commerce? Ad-supported content site? Database-driven information site? Web application? These are just a few of the many possibilities out there. You should be able to answer this without giving away too much of your idea.
