Up 10,092 Traffic Today

As I do everyday I check traffic rank on my website to see how I am doing. This morning I decided to check the community and S.U.N. for kicks. Well all I can say is WOW!  Great job guys you are in the top 100,000 on alexa actually the top 10,000 today. What does that mean to me and you? Well in my humble opinion together we are all helping each other not only learn, grow, network and hopefully propser but  we are all helping each other get  great exposure at the same time.... Keep posting and spreading the word,  working together we we can all benifit.

Matt, I like your enthusiasm. But you might want to go back and check to data at Alexa. SUN`s ranking is at 46,000 plus. What that means is of the all the sites on the web ... there are over 46,000 that are more active than SUN ... (and here`s the important kicker) from ALL the folks that have DOWNLOADED the Alexa toolbar.

Our traffic numbers (via our internal stats programs ... and we use several) at GoTruckStop.com, http://gotruckstop.com , have been increasing every month ... but Alexa shows us loosing position. Be very careful quoting Alexa positioning ... most times it lacks credibility.

But yes, I agree that SUN and all the posters here at the forums that are sharing info ... can all benifit from SUN`s increase in exposure.

Alexa still has todays numer in the top 10,000..

actually the number is 7,035 for today. the avergae is 46,000 by rank but todays numbers dont lie. 7,035 I understand it is a bit ALEXA biased but it usaully indicates direction well.

Matt, this should be a "supportive" group, not arguementative ... or a cyber-cb. I recall a wonderful quote ... it goes something like this ...

"No one cares how much you know ... till they know how much you care ... about them."

It think it is great that SUN`s site has a 46,000 ranking ... but to say that the current activity of todays ranking (on Alexa ... a dubious ranking system to say the least) puts SUN`s website in the top 10,000 is disingenuine. That would be like like saying that a baseball player that goes 4 for 4 at the plate today (a 1.000 batting avg) is a season or lifetime 1.000 hitter. SUN should be very proud of their Alexa ranking ... but it has very little to do with the site ... and more to do with the folks that visit the site through the Alexa toolbar.

The folks at SUN know exactly what their true numbers are through their stats programs ... know exactly where they are entering and exiting the site, know exactly how long the avg length of stay is, know exactly through which search engines and what search terms folks are finding SUN.

The Alexa ranking is a scale to help judge positioning ...amongst other web sites ... and helps show trends ... thats all.

All I can say is, this is just the beginning.
I`ve learned so much in just over a week and have made great connections with people and partners.
This is more than a community board, it`s an inspiration board.
