That`s my story in a nutshell.  I have had my site up for almost 2 years now and have sold only 3 orders.  I have done all the traffic blazer listing, and the email marketing campaign, I changed my merchant account to pay pal to make everyone feel safer with transactions, but i am still not getting a page rank.  My stats on traffic blazer show I am getting traffic, but I don`t see a google page rank to prove those numbers to me after 2 years.  I am certain I have a decent product, I invested alot of cash up front to import the products, purchased exclusive import rights, and now, I am having trouble getting the public to buy. I am drowing in a HELOC!   Can someone throw me a life line? Whats next?

Hello,

I understand your pain, my friend. When I first started my site it was the same story. First of all, pagerank does not hold the importance it once did and also it definitely does not determine traffic. I know several people who get plenty of traffic and have a pagerank of 0 - 2.

Pagerank is increased by having quality sites link to you. This can take time, but you must get quality links from authority sites. NEVER link with sites that are not relevant to yours. Do not flood your site into the hundreds of directories.

I hope this advice helps for now.

p.s. I outsource a lot of my work to people on www.elance.com . Maybe try hiring a SEO expert or someone to make a blog for you and write content a few times a week.

Dood luck!

All I had to go on was the Web URL listed in your profile. I visited there and found River City sterling jewelry. I figured that somehow "truce talk" may have something to do with jewelry, but I couldn`t figure it out.

So because this is a critique, I clicked the "Earrrings" link and ended up at what appears to be an entirely different Web site.

Bottom line: Your Web site makes no sense whatsoever. If I were looking for jewelry, knowing I`d be sending money to the site owners, I`d click away immediately since it appears senseless (therefore a scam).

The "truce talk" name makes no sense at all, regarding jewelry. So.....I wonder if your site has been hacked?

Yes, the site is very confusing.  No matter what I click on, I am greeted with "Sorry, the search you requested found no results. Please re-enter your search or enter a different search request." on what looks like a different website altogether.  I would expect to see pictures of jewelry.

So, I click on Paris Hilton`s image to look at the Paris Hilton style earrings, and all I see is a larger picture of Paris Hilton.  No information at all how to buy the product.

The text on your home page, the first one, is very negative.  All about what you are not.  It`s fine that you want to be honest and straight up with the buyer, but this isn`t the place to do it.  Tell the shopper what you have and tell them how to buy it.

There`s no clear call to action, and even if there were, there`s no indication of where to go next.

And Baby Bedding??  You sell baby bedding in a jewelry store??

Back OT ..... I don`t like that clicking on a link on the left takes me to a site that looks totally different, and makes me feel like I`m somewhere else, as Craig mentioned .... it instantly makes me distrust the site.

Clicking on Rings, I get to the same site and basically have a search form, since there was nothing there to see.

If I click Online Store, it isn`t a store, but now there are 2 Online Store links in the menu, and both are different pages/sites.

It is totally confusing and totally inconsistent.
