As for devaluing their own services ... hog-wash!! Have you ever heard of "giving forward"??

I find it commendable for someone willing to give of themselves to assist others in starting an on-line business. (It is the responsibility of the business owner to determine if those services are worthwhile or of value ... not you or anyone else.)

Very good way to get yourself noticed and build a book of business! If that is your path and the way you want to do things make sure you do a good job at it then! Best of luck to you! Meanwhile if you do want people to believe it is not a scam make a small investment by building yourself a small webpage with work you have done or at least some generic branding designs. That way you will have a showcase and people will see your different types of work and trust and want to work with you. Next thing you know people will be more than happy to pay if you want them to!
