I`ve been working on a site called TheBusinessClassifieds.com on my spare time. Would like to hear some feedback!

Don`t use "biz" in place of "business." On the top, the 1,2,3 is very good, but the colors don`t connect. I`m not a graphic layout artist, but I`m thinking it makes more sense to go from light to dark, and to keep within the color scheme of the site.

So your green "step 3" doesn`t fit in well. You might start #1 with light gray, make #2 the blue you`re using in your tab line (currently step 1), then make #3 the color you`re using in your banner background with white text. Something along those lines, at any rate.

The idea looks good, but it took me a minute to get my mind away from ordinary classifieds where I`m buying or selling an item, and moving into the concept of selling and buying an entire business. You`d likely help casual visitors by having some sort of heading: "Buy or Sell a Business in 3 Easy Steps!"

(The steps would be the registration process.)

I`m a bit biased since it is my line of work but I would strongly recommend any website / web application go through a full third party security audit prior to going "live." Websites build trust with users over time, with proper grammar, trust marks and other design elements. A security incident can take that trust away rather quickly and that`s the last thing an up and coming website needs.

Is the idea that you can buy a business worldwide?
Buying a business is a very location centric decision, you should have browsing options for particular regions, countries at the least on the homepage.

There is much work to be done if this site is going to be successful.  It is too wordy, the ads make it look cheap, the double menu bar system is confusing, the site does not flow well, there is too much text that goes on and on, the design has flaws....

A site like this also needs testing time.  You need to have regular people (who are not biased like your friends or family) to try to use the site and provide feedback.

To give you an idea of what is involved, read through this article.

Let me know if I can help,
