When I first look at this site, my eyes dont focus on any one point. It seems to be all text and the main point does not really jump out at me. Try to draw attention to the primary purpose of your website in some way. One idea I always use is to browse free online templates until I get a good feel for what I want my website to look like. You might want to have a simple introduction front and center that describes your business and then break it down further below that.

Hi everyone!  I recently launched a new Website for my career as a commercial real estate consultant.  The main idea is to help small and medium size businesses reduce expenses through lease restructures and other means of cost savings.  Let me know what you think!  http://www.leasetactics.com

Thanks for your advice!  Jason

Good comment and I`ve heard it before from others.  But at this point, after weeks of programming in my spare time, I can not re-design the site, I need it to bring in customers and all I can do is tweak the current design.  I`ll brain storm on a more centered focal point.  Thanks!

Maybe a flash/mini movie introductory page that then dumps you into the current main page??

I am not a fan of splash pages that start playing audio without warning or any easy way to stop it.  In general, your site is navigable and pretty clearly describes what you do.

Nice colors, but they don`t work. The orange text doesn`t get the eye to focus on the message within it, and the smaller dark text seems lost because of it. The gray is ok for trim, but large blocks of it are boring. I`d say rework your color scheme and you`ll see a big difference in the pages` effect.

Good idea on the colors, I`ve heard from a few people that some of the text gets lost, especially the links.  I`ll work on it.  And I agree, a splash page is circa 1995 web design. lol.

Hi all,

I looked and  the site.  I thought your index page was good - straight to the point.  But, I agree, you need to change out the orange lettering.

Jason, for clarity on the homepage you should include a header somewhere mentioning that you are in commercial real estate.  Not only should you make that more clear, you are also missing any keywords that will help people find you organically.

Your homepage mentions the keyword `business` only once.  Other than that one occurrence, targeted keywords such as `business` and `commercial` are not used in the content or meta tags.

Also, I`d also recommend to stay away from splash pages.  Personally I find them annoying and do not want to wait for a splash page to load.

Michael - Good points and I will see where I can fit commercial real estate in on the home page.  SEO and marketing is Phase 2 and I`m about to roll that out in the next week or so.  Can you recommend any resources for successful meta-tag and SEO strategies?  One site that I found that has been very helpful is - http://www.hubspot.com/  Have a great day!
