The key, and what I like a lot, is that you have a highlighted product box at the top, with some enticing sales language. But you`ve also go that lower content that`s a lot easier to see without scrolling.

Keep the lower content static, and change the weekly or monthly highlighted product. That`s where you can be timely, with holiday gifts, winter decorating, spring cleaning, whatever else. :-) My opinion, of course, but that`s what I`d enjoy seeing.

I quite Agree.
I am Jarrod, what you could call the webmaster and developer of the site.  What i would like to keep the same is exactly what you said. I don`t feel we should add any new, or change, the content that is on the sides as much. Then simply use the center image as a main area for theme rotation every so often. However, perhaps a rotational period of every 2 weeks may be best, depending on the season. If you change the home page too little you loose the effect, but the same happens if you change it too fast/much.
I do look forward to seeing how the recent changes affect our analytics, i`ll be sure to report back with some details. Though, based on how statistics work, it may be 3 weeks to a month before i can actually give accurate estimates of improvement.

Hi Jarrod :-) Excellent work on the site!
The implication in my above is that I disagree with the "gimmick" of using Flash! and dynamic Web URLs to fool Google into believing there`s changing content. Human readers trump search engines, in my opinion.

So a manually changed top ad makes a lot more sense, in my opinion, than just a slideshow of every product on the site in some automated blitz. Plus, having it done manually provides room for a friendly welcome and sales "invitation" on that slowly changing "front window," so to speak. It`s more attractive to real people, regardless of search-engine games.

Hi Missy,

I just checked out your web site and I am impressed.  To me at least, it does feel warm, homey, and friendly.  Am I right in my assumption that it has been a successful venue for your business?  Again, it is very cool!!

hmm..the site comes off as looking kind of like a banner...Especially with the product search area on the left. I thought that was a banner!

Can you define your idea of a "banner"? Not entirely clear what you mean.

Edit: Unless your response was to aviles... in which case i think you should ignore him, i`m sure he`s simply a spammer.

Ok, then, again, can you please define what you mean a bit better?
Thanks!

p.s. and then also perhaps provide some ideas on how to fix it?
