Good morning Edgar, sorry for my late response to your question which was to mine!  Startlogic is the site that I paid 2 years up front for. That was recommended highly to me from one of Sun`s members.  The other host provider which has been calling me is called "Custom Pro Design". They claim they will design a $1500 website for you and all you have to do is use them as your host provider. Which of course I dont need since I already have one.  I was wondering if anyone ever heard of "Custom Pro Design"?

yep, let me give you some insight that i have...you need to take a look around for clues...and start your business from an unconventional direction(always remember direction and velocity)...i am trying to start my own .biz, too! but, if you think that you are going to convince people to buy web services than i think that you are in error. what you need is a website that attracts lots of visitors(should take no more than 5 hours to build - really!), then advertise websites services from that site. use Paypal, ebay and Awords(stay with the big boys) for your online tools whenever possible, too! CanI make a suggestion -build a website about Gold(precious metals), and sell it for couple of hundred dollars - fast! You can buy articles and pictures or get them free online!! Just remember, `content` sells!!....I don`t want to give all my ideas away here...but building a business isn`t much different than commiting suicide. Either you have it in you - or you don`t. I hope for your sake that you are planning to make several thousand dollars a week - or might as well work for someone else(if you are a decent developer). Most importantly - keep things simple! Stay away from hosting and url services (too competitive). why play when you can aquire those tools readily!! c-ya!!

Netrix, there is a lot of money still in web hosting.

I can personally testify to that. Not because I`ve made any of that money but because I am right now looking for a good web host and I can`t find one.

I am hoping somebody somewhere will get it right. Go Daddy got it right with the domain name sales but that`s all they`re good for. They`re no good at hosting. I know. I tried them.

I am surprised that no one has gotten it right yet but I am hopeful. Host Gator got the price structure right but their service has been extremely poor. They charge enough to make money but not too much to burst your wallet but their poor service is killing me.

So that would be my advice, start something and focus on the service and try your best to combine it with affordable pricing and you may become the go daddy of hosting. You go boy!

To build off of letutor`s point, targeting local businesses is a fantastic idea. As a web host of over 3 years myself, not only is there money to be earned locally but having a local customer base has certain advantages. I know many of my hosting customers like knowing I`m always a phone call, email, or lunch meeting away if they ever need to discuss something with me. My accessibility is something I feel promotes growth in the customer base because our customers feel safe recommending us to others.
