For the start of new small business, the warehousing and distribution part is rather important issue. I am a starter and I could really use some help regarding warehousing distribution and production efficiency. Please if there's anyone could share something with me that would be great.

Hi Evan,

Warehouse/distribution centers come in all sizes.  I know two gentlemen who run their warehouse/distribution operation out of their garage for instance.  Another man had enough land behind his home to build a long two story metal building.  It wasn’t that expensive to build.  He only had the first floor finished off. But, as his business grew he had a contractor put in the second floor.

Another option is to find a business with unused warehouse space.  They may be willing to lease you some space.  And, they may even handle your shipping and receiving needs.  I worked for just such a business.  A third of our warehouse area was empty.  So, we leased the space out to another company.  He would send us copies of his customer orders and we would ship the product out under his label.  Then, once a month he would do inventory and ship us a restock order.

The above operation is a small version of what’s call 3rd party logistics (3PL).  There are warehousing operations that are set up solely to provide 3PL service to the general business community.  You can Google the phrase “3PL service provider” to get a listing of these companies.  In Bound Logistics magazine (on line version as well) also has a chart rating these service provider.  The chart comes out once a year.  Or, you can go into the on line version of the magazine and enter 3PL in the search box on the home page.

Amoxicillin Dosage For a Canine UTI

If your pet is on antacids or sucralfate wait two hours either before or after you give the antibiotic. Also, do not give Ciprofloxacin with vitamin or mineral products. Certain vitamins and minerals will bind to Ciprofloxacin preventing it from being absorbed in the body so the medication will not work as well as it should to kill the bacteria. Separate the dose of ciprofloxacin from any antacid or vitamin dose by at least 2 hours. There are other drugs that may also interact with Ciprofloxacin so check with your vet.

The Amoxicillin Side Effects and allergic reactions of an antibiotic dosage for canine UTI's can include difficulty breathing, hives, and swelling of the lips, tongue or face. Stop giving Ciprofloxacin and contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet develops any serious side effects such as seizures or convulsions, confusion, depression, sudden pain, swelling near the joints, nausea, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, or urinating more or less than usual. If your pet experiences vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, joint stiffness, or muscle pain call your vet. Tell your veterinarian if your pet has had epilepsy or seizures, joint problems or kidney disease or if your pet is pregnant or lactating.

Amoxicillin is another antibiotic dosage for canine UTI also used to treat various infections caused by bacteria. The standard dose for dogs and cats is 5 to 10mg per pound given by mouth every 12 to 24 hours. The length of treatment depends on the disease and the response to treatment.

If a dog or cat has had a urinary infection the chances are much greater for additional problems, whether from bacteria or stones. The cause can be diet or a hereditary defect. After treatment with antibiotics you may want to consider a preventative herbal remedy for urinary problems that can build up the immune system and help the urinary tract fight off bacteria avoiding expensive treatments.

I have been in the warehousing/distributing/fulfillment/3rd party business for close to 30 yrs. We save distibutors and manufacturers tons of money but storing and shipping their products with same-day service. By utilizing our warehouse and shipping services for a small % of their sales or a negotiated flat-rate, we save businesses a lot of money. They no longer need expensive warehouse space or a shipping dept therefore requiring less employees/expenses. It allows manufacturers to concentrate on making and marketing their producs and not worry about fulfillment of product. We are a regional mid-west warehouse for several major manufacturers that want stock available to service their customers same-day or next-day in our portion of the country. It means a lot to customers/end users to not have to wait 4 days for product to reach them from the west coast or down south. We are always open to new opportunities. Feel free to comment or email us!
