Who`s the guy in the red, white and blue? Is that Uncle Sam? oh my, how he`s gained weight!
The spending package now signed into law by President Barack Obama shows just how far `change` has come to Washington. The talk of Republicans and Democrats working together lasted all of a few hours inauguration day and then it was back to business and politics as usual.
It becomes increasingly difficult to teach our children the value of money and hard work while the government spends American tax dollars on projects drowning in self-interest.
The talk of economic recovery and fiscal responsibility has grown old. My husband and I love this country. We appreciate those who put their lives on the line to protect our national security interests. Then there`s congress! Free spending fat cats, laughing themselves all the way to the midterm elections in 2010.
Fiscal responsibility is not a political issue. It is a common sense issue. Don`t spend more than you bring in and live within your means. I guess it just proves that if Washington is lacking in anything, it`s common sense. Fiscal leadership and responsibility have long exited the beltway.
Who`s the guy in the red, white and blue? We recognize him well.
