Since Kim started this thread with the question:

"What If Someone Could Invent or start a..."

Someone needs to start a taxidermy service for humans. We stuff deer, fish, cougars, mountain lions, elk, deer - you name. Why not gandma?

Roy Rogers stuffed Trigger and Bullet.

There`s probably a lot of folks out there that would love to stuff grandma or grandpa and sit `em up in their favorite rocking chair or recliner by the fireplace and be able to drop by and say hello every now and again. Great crime prevention tactic.

Think of all the cemetary space we would save (they are already double stacking in some places). Would be great for the HOV lanes on the highway, too. Blowup doll? No. Just use your stuffed relative - looks real enough to fool the cops.

I wonder if there is a law against this?

Yikes Richard...LOL

That could have been a Six Feet Under episode...David gets all freaked out over the creepiness of it all... LOL.

I keep thinking about Bard`s idea...since he`s going to be spending (presumably) a lot of time in the new baby`s room, what if the technology he`s talking about could be incorporated into one of those baby walkie talkies...What if your baby makes a sound that gives you a great idea...you hear the sound in another room...and then immediately flip a switch on the monitor and enter your idea info?

No?

Matt, ewe.  I`m telling you, you have missed your calling...consider stand up comedy...everything you write (`cept the serious stuff) makes me giggle.

I Got One! I Got One!!!

you`ve heard of "The South Beach Diet" and "Weight Watchers", but how about a new diet called "The Entrepreneur`s Stress Diet"?

with all of the challenges we have as entrepreneurs, maybe it could be channeled into a weight los program?!

ok, i`m going back to work now....

Hi Kim :).  Sorry I missed this, been spending too much time in the baby`s room.

Actually the whole baby monitoring concept needs an overhaul.  As part of our new addition, we rearranged the house, putting my office down in the basement.  Which is fine, only down in the basement there`s no way I`m hearing anybody without a monitor.  But with 3 kids, plus presumably a wife that would like to contact me periodically, I`d need like 4 individual monitors.  I`m on the lookout for something that would aggregate that all into one system, without breaking the bank.  I do not want to wire the house up with video cameras, either.  Audio is fine.  Ideally, bidirectional so I can yell at them to quiet down up there as they get older. :)

Rich, very interesting...although, I have lost weight since my start up....so I could actually use something to put on pounds:-)

Bard I think Motorola makes something similar to what you are describing.  Best of luck with the new baby!

Did anyone see American Inventor last night...kind of cheesy, but tell me you don`t feel the pain of the folks who don`t make it to the next round?

I felt their pain but also knew that they were well on their way to getting their product to market if for no other reason than making it into the top 12. They will all be out there I`m sure. They are really lucky to have that opportunity. They were given exposure that most of us could never possibly afford.

I can see the follow up show 2 years from now that points to where they are and I imagine that a good number of them will be doing well.

My father once told me about a small country store in Mississippi that had a person on the front porch. An old gentleman sits snoozing in a rocking chair and silently greets customers never saying a word. As the story is told, he died in that chair and was found years later in remarkable shape dried like a raisn in the sun.  Sounds like a great story to tell the kids but I`m sure that it`s just a story.

On the other hand I do know that Sweden has started freeze drying people, dipping them into liquid nitrogen and then shattering the pieces into powder to turn them into fertelizer which you can legally add to your garden and really will make your flowers grow. Every spring you can look at your azalea bush flowering and say "hi grandma!"

The thing about what they are doing though is that if you don`t dip the remains in nitrogen, you have a perfectly presereved body in any position that you want that will last for a really long time. It`s completely legal to do it with your pets. Don`t forget plastinization. Everybody thinks that there are laws against these things (and there are burial laws) but with the proper legal documentation showing consent, people can do just about anything with human remains. Pretty creepy stuff. Look at what medical institutions do in the name of science.

I just reread my post. Sorry to take a morbid turn like that.

Let me put another thought in your head.

Here`s what I would like to see as an entrepreneuer--

Idiot proof 3D dimensional software that would allow you to take a 2D sketch and turn it into a 3D image, AND a personal 3D printer that doesn`t cost a fortune.

It would be great to see somebody package a system like this for under $5,000

I think it`s a long way off. Does anyone know what exists now that most resembles my dream?
