I recently learned about a service called BrowserCam, that allows remote website testing using a variety of different operating systems and browsers.

Has anyone tried this service?  I am about to launch my site and this definitely looks like something I could use.

I noticed you live in Rosemount. That`s where my bank is located.

I have not tried BrowserCam but it definitely looks useful as long as you know how to apply the results. For example, a user might "want" something but not know why. Knowing "why" is more important than knowing "what".

Hi Brett --

I have used BrowserCam.

It is helpful in the fact you can view what your page looks like on many different browsers/operating systems. The problem that I ran into when using it was that if something was not lining up correctly or a block of text was out of whack say on a mac it was almost impossible to troubleshoot with only a screenshot of the problem. Also any testing of functionality isn`t possible.

But it definitely has some benefit. If I were you I would go for the 24 trial period to see how your site looks.

TonerDesign turned me onto a similar site, Browser Shots. The only issue is how long it takes to move your URL through the que. She sets up the job before going to sleep at night, then checks the results the next morning. It shows what your site will look like on just about every possible browser in the market.
