Anyone one heard of - Twitter micro pitch? Richard Branson ,the CEO of Virgin,is offering entrepreneurs the chance to promote their bussiness to him via Twitter

That is interesting and something I was not aware of. I am gonna look around for some more info on this and see what I can come up with.
140 characters is definitely a challenge, but if I were you I would be sure to leave enough room for a tinyurl with further explanation after my attention grabbing headline so to speak.

Yes, paste in the URL with your tweet , people who are interested can follow the whole story, who aren't they can just skip it - The link characters also count … ... but Twitter will shorten that URL and pass it along with your tweets so it's fine.
