Ok, I`m looking to register my trademark. However, its $325 (or so) at uspto.gov. I guess you can also register your trademark with the state, which is $75.00.
My target is not nationwide and is indeed local. So should I register only with the state? Any downfalls to this? Or am I required to register via the uspto.gov?

Thanks all in advance!

for the price difference, the national coverage is nice if you think you might expand

The question for you: How serious are you about
your trademark?

Nothing locally can prevent someone taking it globally. Are
your visions and dreams only locally or are you willing to imagine
the possibilities?

When I kicked off my trademark drive Dec. 2005, I went for
the bang - straight FEDERAL. I felt and saw the possibilities
for my brand. It`s more than a logo for me, it`s my brand. By
the way it`s Won`t Be Denied!

As of January 2, 2007, I have a trademark that`s belongs to
me and truly kicks off my legacy.

It`s an awesome feeling.

I believe this is a question for you to ponder about for the long
and short term goals you have for your dream.

Continue to make this the best day ever!

Won`t Be Denied!

I just recently registered our trademark at ustpo.  I thought the price was pretty reasonable.  Personally, I wouldnt want anyone else to use our trademark period for their gain.  Having it registered federally give me a sense of ownership.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies. It would definitely/only be a trademark to use in-State, so globally or nationally wouldn`t matter.

Thanks again,

How hard was it to fill out the paperwork for a federal trademark?  Is it something that I can do myself or do I need to hire an attorney to do the paperwork for me?  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hello Everyone,

I plan to file a trademark soon with the US office.  As soon as I do this, would it be wise to start telling people about my business concept, etc? Or should I wait a few months before I start talking about everything?

Thanks,
DayDreamer (in Action)

filed federal tm applications are public records.  in theory, everybody already knows about everything on file there, so there is no real "secrecy" possible.
