And you can get the inside scoop direct from Craig Newmark himself. He came on Startupnation Radio earlier this year!

FYI – Craigslist recently announced that, starting October 22, it will start charging $25 for help-wanted ads in Washington D.C., San Diego, Boston, and Seattle. Employers already pay for help-wanted ads in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

The company said its motivation is to reduce the number of get-rich-quick and other “spam” ads and to reduce the number of duplicate postings by legitimate employers.

According to one article I saw, market research firm Classified Intelligence estimates that after Craigslist starts charging for help-wanted ads in the four additional cities, it will bring in a total of $30 million a year from classified ad revenue.

These websites are powerful tools for your business.  No matter what your business model is: Click and Mortar, Brick and Mortar, E -commerce.

I`ve personally gotton huge amounts of business from these free online classifieds and would recommend that anyone with a business should not overlook this free source for advertising.
