Generally speaking, does anyone know how difficult, on a programming level, is it to
create a tool bar... like a google or yahoo tool bar?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I built one a couple of years ago for IE using http://www.besttoolbars.net/. The software was extremely simple to use, allows you to quickly prototype toolbars and required no programming. If you do a google search for "toolbar builder" or "toolbar creator" you`ll find a number of applications, including some that appear to be free, that will help you with this task.

PS: I still program and I wouldn`t consider writing one from scratch now I`ve used one of these tools.

I hear you, you know one thing I found out with tool bars, If you have Norton Internet Security it treats it like spyware, becareful when you use these tools, I know they are fun to have but can be a headache to your customers.

Yeah, it treats it like alexa, search1800 and all those spyware links. I guess in order for you to have it, you would have to be a big company like Yahoo or SBC that they can do that.
