Please take a look at my website and offer any opinions and/or suggestions.  I want the truth. I want it to be perfect but I need outside opinions.

link removed for website revamping

1. Goals of website: To provide information pertaining to open house videos and how they can benefit both the consumer and the realtor.

2. Did you design this yourself: Yes and No. I used various CSS templates and modified them so that it wouldn`t look like a template.

I think you need to work on the copywriting.

Hi,

Is it possible for you to provide photos/graphics of current/past customers on your home page?  Just so you`re showcasing what you do best?

A little more imagery would be nice.

Nikole is right about your copy.  The main problem is that you have a lot of lengthy paragraphs that appear too much to read for the pace that most people browse websites.

The Web site is supposed to show how your company produces open house videos. Instead, it shows mostly text. Even the "Demo video" loaded slow, was a slide show, didn`t show much of anything, and wasn`t interesting.

Change the emphasis from a text-based site, to a video-based site. If you can`t do that with current templates, then hire a developer who can do it for you.

Thanks for the feed back everybody.

Craig: I know about the video loading slow I am having a problem with Veoh. I choose their site because they were streaming fast, now it sputters. The video actually has a "video" walk though in it not just slides. I only used slides for the inital description. I also knew that there would be problems with the video load times so I broke it down by each room. In addition I did put a slide show for pictures of the rooms as well.

Rochelle: Current/ past customers; Don`t have any yet. The house in the video was someone who let me use their place as a demo.

Nikole / Steven: Your right I do have too much text. Thats why I am here. I needed an outside opinion. I guess I felt that I needed to really breakdown and explain why this service can benefit Realtors and homeowners.

Think about all those medical shows you`ve seen on TV. Many times, the paramedics come screeching to a halt outside the ER, run in with a gurney, and bedlam ensues. The doctor runs up, and says, "What`s the bullet?" Or, "What`ve we got here?"

The expectation by the doctor is to find out exactly the condition of the patient, within 60 seconds, and no extra discussion. Most of the acronyms, and many medical terms are there explictly because they consolidate a lot of information into a very sort space.

A Web site is like that. Particularly, a web site based on visual information.

If you have to explain it in words, you probably don`t understand what it is you`re trying to explain. Just about anything (product-wise) should be capable of being explained in pictures, and perhaps one or two bullet points.

Don`t explain why ... just list it. Quickly.

Show more video product, even it is a slide show across the header that draws the realtor and/or homeowner into the website.  Less copy...well written.  Also focus on how a virtual tour can be an asset in the marketing and selling of a home.  Show more houses and details!

Consulting with a graphic and web designer who has some experience in the real estate market should also be on your agenda.  And, asking questions and listening to realtors about the most valuable tools they use in their marketing.  Many realtors I know do not use a virtual tour for all their listings.
