Can anyone please tell about trademarking and/or registering a name/logo and biz concept? I would really like to get the ball rolling on my venture and I feel that securing my business name , logo and concept would be the first step. My concept is in the service industry . I want to be sure I own the name and logo at least. Do I have to trademark them or register them? Do I do both name and logo on one form or both separately? As for concept, I`m not sure if  I can "own" that-or can I?  How about cost for doing this? Should I consult a lawyer or do it on my own? Some help in answering these questions would be greatly appreciated!
                                         Thanks in advance,

Hire a lawyer.  Avoid LegalZoom [which will require you to need ANOTHER lawyer in the long run].

You have the money.  This may or may not be a priority, but you can afford it.

Hi Joe,

My office does Trademark searches.  We charge a flat fee of $1500 and it includes a formal opinion letter as to whether or not you should apply for the trademark.

Give us a call if you are interested.

Best of luck!

I charge less - though lawyers should not be selling services in this way.
